2) Select the categories you would like to see images from.
3) Make sure Renew is active, check the upper left hand corner of the window.
3) Set a refresh rate and click the "Set Rate" button. You are now free to quit Renew and go about your normal routine.
Trouble Shooting & FAQ:
DO THIS FIRST: Open the preference pane and click refresh now and see if you get any errors, Renew will not display errors when running in the background so this will let you know if there are any problems that you can easily resolve.
Q: How do I uninstall Renew?
A: Control or right click on the Renew icon in System Preferences, select remove.
Q: Where do the pictures come from?
A: This is by far the most common question we heard during beta testing. There is no easy way to answer this question. The images are coming from various free desktop image sites across the internet. Our software searches the web (much like google) and provides links to these images in the same way a web browser works.
Q: Why is the Set Rate button disabled?
A: Renew is not active, click the activate button in the upper left hand corner of the window.
Q: What are the limitations of the demo?
A: Renew will function with no limitations for 14 days. After this trial period it will no longer run in the background but you can still manually refresh the image from within the Preference Pane.
Q: Sometimes when Renew refreshes it does not show a new image.
A: Renew randomizes the picture it uses, it is possible that it hit the same image twice. If the image is not refreshing ever you have a different problem however.
Q: Renew does not run in the background.
A: Try toggling the activate/deactivate button on then off, make sure to stop when it says "Renew is Active". Then try setting a different refresh time. If it still does not run in the background contact support.
Q: Why can't I refresh faster then 5 minutes?
A: Several reasons, first off it will put a very heavy tax on your network and may slow down your machine depending on how fast it is set. Second Renew is not designed for this kind of function and may act unexpectedly. Third it cuts down on the amount of server calls to the image's host. The third being the primary reason.
Q: The images are not centered properly or do not look right on my screen.
A: Play around with the image placement feature, all screens are different and it is impossible to use only images that appear normally on all of them. Personally I use "Fill Screen" and it always looks proper.
